The Audio Agency launches DROP EVERYTHING AND LISTEN!

The Audio Agency is partnering with the School Library Association in the UK to launch a new campaign, DROP EVERYTHING AND LISTEN! (DEAL)

For the month of November 2025, The Audio Agency is making select titles available for free to SLA member schools, as well as providing teacher resources to support the use of audio in the classroom.

What's the big DEAL?

We’ve all heard about the reading crisis facing the UK. Only 1 in 3 children and young people (8-18) enjoy reading, the lowest rate in 20 years.

In response to this crisis, the Department for Education and the National Literacy Trust launched The National Year of Reading 2026. Key to this initiative is encouraging both literacy proficiency and reading for pleasure.

And audio has a major role to play! Beyond accessibility, audio engages, entertains, and educates children who increasingly enjoy listening to stories and information. And that practice is a gateway to the written word.

So why make audiobooks free?

The Audio Agency's inaugural 2025 DROP EVERYTHING AND LISTEN! is our way of supporting schools and libraries in their literacy education mission, and our tangible contribution to The National Year of Reading.

The 2025 platform partners are Voxblock and Sora by Overdrive. Voxblock will provide a starter kit for schools, which includes a Voxblock player and select titles, free of charge for the month of November. Titles will be available digitally via Sora for active subscribers.
